The ACE Builds team (led by Susie Chaplin) took home the first place trophy on Saturday, August 3 at AIA's 2019 Sand Fest competition. The team competed in what the judges called the most competitive and difficult category. The team got inspiration for the sculpture from popular Avengers movies and named the sculpture 'Sand Fest End Game'.
The significance in ACE Builders selecting the Avengers End Game theme and design is to illustrate that with each infinity stone, we have owners, developers, architects, engineers, and contractors that make up the “Infinity Gauntlet.” When all entities/ stones come together, no challenge or project is impossible. We aim to teach young adults the importance of collaboration and diversity of thought so they can select career pathways in what best fits their vision/ dream.
Sand Fest also included volleyball, corn hole and other activities. Proceeds AIA Sandfest (Beach Day) raised will go to support ACE Mentor Cleveland Program scholarship fund, which has awarded $950,000 in scholarships in the past 9 years.
